Welcome to Lodge Terre et Mer – a peaceful and spacious retreat nestled between land and sea in the heart of Guereo, Senegal.
Our property features two beautifully designed villas set on a quiet plot just minutes from the Somone Lagoon. The main villa spans 700 m² and offers seven individually styled bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Two of the bedrooms connect directly to a large open-plan kitchen and living room, ideal for social gatherings. On the first floor, three bedrooms overlook the pool terrace, while the second floor houses two additional bedrooms, each with access to a private balcony and sweeping views of the surroundings.
The second villa, a cozy 70 m² guesthouse, includes a fully equipped kitchen, one bedroom, and a bathroom with two showers, perfect for added privacy or hosting smaller groups. It also boasts a private rooftop terrace – the ideal spot for morning yoga, sunset drinks, or simply soaking in the tranquility.
To reach us, exit the highway at Sindia, then follow the road toward Popenguine, continuing on to Guereo. After passing through the village of Guereo, stay on the same road until you reach a dirt road about 2 km before the property. This final stretch is unpaved but accessible by car. Social and Environmental Impact
Oyster farming in the Somone Lagoon has a significant social impact, especially for local women, who earn income through harvesting and selling oysters. Programs like FISH4ACP promote sustainable production while empowering women in the industry.
Most oysters are still harvested manually and informally, with only around 2.5% coming from formal farms. However, Senegalese authorities and the EU are supporting efforts to structure and scale the sector — with some new farms reaching up to six tons per year.
Farming methods are designed to protect the mangrove ecosystem, using suspended platforms that avoid damaging the fragile roots of the mangrove trees.
The Beach Just Steps from Your Villa
Located just a few minutes’ walk or drive away, the beaches of Somone–Guereo offer a stunning natural setting between lagoon and Atlantic Ocean. From Avenue de la Lagune, a sandy path leads you directly to one of the most pristine beaches on the Petite Côte.
Here, you won’t find crowds or concrete—just golden sand, calm waters, and a peaceful atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Whether you want to swim, stroll along the shore, read under a parasol, or watch the sunset, the beach awaits you in all its simplicity.
The area is also close to the Somone Lagoon nature reserve, a protected ecosystem home to birds like pelicans, herons, and flamingos, which you can observe during a boat trip or a walk.
Enjoy easy and quick access to the beach while staying in a private, comfortable environment away from busy tourist areas. A true luxury for lovers of nature, tranquility, and authenticity.
